Toi Whātua leads the implementation of programmes to further our culture and identity aspirations across four areas: Reo, Tikanga, Tāpere and Whakaata.
Toi Reo is a comprehensive reo programme that can cater for all reo levels from beginners through to advanced.
Toi Tikanga celebrates tikanga, traditions and narratives that perpetuate the identity of Ngāti Whātua
Toi Tāpere brings together the celebration and activation of kapahaka, mau rākau, contemporary waiata and theatre. .
Toi Whakaata elevates and energises Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei narrative through mahi toi across our rohe.
Cultural Services
Toi Whātua provides cultural expertise to support organisations, events and kaupapa seeking to engage respectfully and meaningfully with Te Ao Māori. Our services are grounded in the values, narratives and lived experience of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
Our services include:
- Pōhiri and whakatau for formal welcomes and events
- Blessings and karakia for openings, milestones and significant moments
