Toi Tupu
What is Toi Tupu
The ‘Toi Tupu Savings and Investment’ scheme, is a way for the Ngati Whatua Orakei Trust to support all members of Ngati Whatua Orakei (living in New Zealand or Australia). But what is it exactly?
The Ngati Whatua Orakei Trust would like to make annual distribution payments (when possible) to all members of Ngati Whatua Orakei who enrol in Toi Tupu. These payments will be invested on your behalf into Whai Rawa Limited, as a term deposit.
- You don’t need to put any of your own money into this scheme.
- The deposits made on your behalf are yours.
- Your deposits will earn interest and grow with time (see Interest for more details).
- You can withdraw your deposits, subject to the terms and conditions of Toi Tupu.
- You can view your details, deposits and withdraw through your Toi Tupu account.
To make sure you don’t miss out on the next distribution, you can enrol now. If you no longer want to participate in the Toi Tupu scheme at any time, you may opt-out. The terms, conditions and policies of this scheme can be found in the Documentation page.
Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei is committed to the growth of ngā uri o Tuperiri for generations to come. By delivering Toi Tupu, a savings and investment scheme, we hope to encourage and grow a savings and investment culture within the hapū. If you choose to participate, you will see your putea grow along with assets of the hapū and along the way strengthen your knowledge and understanding of savings and finances.
The delivery of this programme is consistent with the vision of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei – Kia Rere Arorangi te Kāhu Pōkere ki ngā taumata tiketike. It is also in keeping with the mātāpono of tino rangatiratanga, mana taurite, kotahitanga and kaitiakitanga.
It is up to you whether you want to participate in Toi Tupu. Our hope, however, is that you do consider this opportunity and, if it is right for you, you take it up and benefit from it.
