National Iwi Chairs Fourm - Waitematā Kupenga Rau

Waitematā Kupenga Rau was the theme for the National Iwi Chairs Forum Tāmaki and celebrates abundance, opportunity, connections and sustainability. Waitematā Kupenga Rau refers to the abundance of kai from the waters of the Waitematā and the many chiefs who inhabited the bays and inlets.

This forum was a gathering, drawing together iwi leaders from across the nation to discuss critical issues that affect our people. The event served as a platform to strengthen ties, share knowledge, and foster collaboration on initiatives that will shape the future. The discussions held here are vital as we continue to navigate the challenges of today and work towards sustainable solutions for future generations. The gathering not only honored the past but also laid the groundwork for ongoing unity and shared purpose among iwi throughout Aotearoa.

We value your experience and feedback on the National Iwi Chairs Forum in Tāmaki. Your insights will help us improve future events and ensure they continue to reflect the values of manaakitanga and kotahitanga. Please take a moment to share your thoughts and help us strengthen our collective journey.
